Timeless Morocco: 11 Days, 10 Nights

Day 1

CASABLANCA

Upon arrival to Casablanca you will met and escorted by private transfer to your accommodation. Take the day to tour the economic and industrial capital of Morocco. Visit the Hassan II mosque, the bustling medina and dine on the beach front on Avenue Cornichon.

Day 2

FEZ

Depart Casablanca and head for Fez via Rabat, the governing capital and home to the royal family.

Spend time visiting the sites in Rabat, including a visit to the Chellah, spectacular Andalusia gardens of the Oudaya Kasbah and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and then head straight for Fez.

Tonight your dinner will be organised for you in your hotel.

Day 3

FEZ

Begin your time in Fez with a ramparts tour including beautiful panoramic views of the Fez Medina from the Merinades will give you a great overview of this magnificent city.

Today gives you the opportunity to explore the medina of Fez with one of our certified guides. You’ll find traditional artisanal goods, rich carpets, pyramids of spices and succulent olives and dried fruits. Explore as quickly or as leisurely as you please. Some sights included in tour are the world’s oldest learning centre, The Kairaouine Mosque and University, Bou Inania, the Fondouk Nejjarine, the Zaouia of Moulay Idriss ll, the Medressa Attarine and the house of Maimonedes and the wonderful medina tanneries.

Tonight you can choose to dine in your Hotel or enjoy one of the many restaurants available.

Day 4

FEZ

Today you have a free day to explore Fez on your own. Why not wander into the Ville Nouveau and along the Hassan II Ave, famous for it’s fountains or try a traditional Moroccan Hammam experience. We also have a number of workshops that we can arrange for you – for some ideas why not take a look at our optional extras.

Tonight you can choose to dine in your Hotel or enjoy one of the many restaurants available.

Day 5

ERFOUD

Leave Fez and head to the desert. Experience spectacular views of cedar forests, visit the Barbary Apes at Ifrane and tour through the beautiful and scenic Midelt on route to the Sahara. The Ziz valley and view the Efous oasis which offer amazing photographic opportunites and arrive late in the afternoon for your night in Erfoud, the threshold of the Sahara.

A relaxing Dinner will be organised for you this evening at your Hotel

Day 6

ERG CHEBBI – SAHARA DESERT

Erg Chebbi is the large sand-sea which effectively marks the start of the real Sahara and some of the dunes in this area rise to over 245 metres. The colours of the rising and setting sun over these dunes make for a truly magical experience.

Enjoy your morning at leisure exploring the town of Erfoud before departing on a 4 X 4 vehicle tour to explore the regions souks, fossil digs, highest sand dunes in North Africa and experience an exhibition of traditional Gnaoua music before heading into the desert by either camel or 4 X 4 for a night under the stars, sleeping in traditional Berber nomadic tents.

Day 7

DADES GORGES

Rise early in the morning to see the amazing sunrise over the dunes then head back to your hotel in Erfoud to re-fresh and take breakfast before you journey on towards Tinehir.

One of the highlights of the South is the massive fault in the plateau that divides the High Atlas from the Jebel Sarhro, called the Todra Gorges. The crystal clear river emerging from the deep ochre and pink rock formations offer a dramatic landscape and great photographic opportunites.

Travel through the beautiful Valley of the Roses, La Palmarie Skoura and the Cascades of Tizgni before reaching Ouarzazate.

Home of Morocco’s ’Hollywood’ movie Industry you can choose to stop off at the movie studios and see where films such as Gladiator and the Dummy were made before reaching the Dades, your final stop for the night.

Tonight, Dinner will be available for you in the Kasbah.

Day 8

MARRAKECH

On route to Marrakech is Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most exotic and best preserved Kasbahs in the entire Atlas Region. The Kasbah is now under UNESCO protection and has magnificent views of the surrounding palmeraie and beyond.

After driving through the High Atlas Mountains and some amazing scenery you’ll arrive at Marrakech and settle into your accommodation. Take a wander thru the souks and spend the evening at the famous Djemaa el Fna Square being mesmerised by snake charmers, storytellers and any other of the great spectacles that might cross your path!

Choose to eat in your Hotel, one of the many restaurants available or at the Djemaa El Fna Square.

Day 9

MARRAKECH

Today we take you on a guided Tour of Marrakech.

While Marrakech is alive with modern life and development, it is also home to a wealth of buildings, sites and artefacts of crucial importance to Moroccan history.

Your vehicle, driver and tour guide are at your disposal for the whole day. Some sights visited in the tour include the Koutoubia Minaret and gardens, the Saadien Tombs, the El Badi and El Bahia Palaces and Dar Si Said, home to the Museum of Moroccan Arts.

Tonight you can choose to dine in your Hotel or enjoy one of the many restaurants available.

Day 10

ESSAOUIRA

As an Old Portuguese fishing port, once known as Mogador, this town is vibrant and rich in historical treasures and the arts.

Visit the old fort, listen to live music in the square or explore the colourful souks and shop for artisanal goods.

Choose to dine in your Hotel or at one of the many delicious restaurants available.

Day 11

CASABLANCA

After breakfast leave for Casablanca. Your vehicle and driver are at your disposal for the remainder of the day and will transfer you to Casablanca to your preferred mode of transport for your departure.
